Happy New Year everyone reading, I hope you had a joyful time counting backwards from ten. It's now 2008, I feel like an old man (I know I'm young, but I can feel it in my bones!!)...
Old Man Matt says, "I remember, back in the winter of 1932..it was a cold winter. Colder than the winters that these here youngin's will ever know thanks to the warming of that there globe. Anyways, this was back in January of 1929, we was snowed in..not like the snow these here youngin's know, but REAL snow. You know, the kind that's white..and cold..and what have ya. Okay, so I was talkin' about the winter of 1918, when me and my family was snowed in. Oh boy, it was a cold winter, that it was..back in February 1901. So anyways, my mom and pop told me to go out one night in January 1898 and fetch some logs for our fire. We used fire back in those days, not like this confounded cheap electrical stuff you whippersnappers have these days. In my day, if you wanted heat, you had to go out in the cold, chop down a tree, drag it to the chopping block, and chop some wood for the fire. With no jacket! You was a lucky kid if you had a jacket in them days. Then, you haul the wood inside and light it. Not with these newfangled lightermajiggs that you kids have today, but with flint and dried leaves. Anyways, this was back in the winter of 1894, when I was just a boy of 6. I'll tell you..ZZZZzzzZZZZZ..."
Now, I'll celebrate the new year with an artsy farts pitchah...
Enjoy..:-)
